Create your account
Sign up for gitdb.co with GitHub, Google, or email, verify your email address, and choose a username.
You can create a gitdb.co account in two ways: with a GitHub or Google account, or with an email address and password. Both start at gitdb.co/signup, on the page titled Create your GitDB account.
Sign up with GitHub or Google
- Click Continue with GitHub or Continue with Google.
- Approve the sign-in on the provider's page. You're sent back to gitdb.co.
- If this is a new account, gitdb.co asks you to Choose a username: "This is your org and repo prefix. It can’t be changed easily later." Type a username that follows the username rules and click CONTINUE →.
Your account is created at that point and you land on your dashboard. If you already have an account linked to that provider, you go straight to your dashboard.
If the hand-off with the provider doesn't complete, you'll see Sign in failed with the reason, and buttons to go BACK TO SIGN IN or RETURN HOME.
Sign up with email
- Below OR WITH EMAIL, fill in:
- Full name
- Username (org and repo prefix): see the username rules.
- Work email
- Password: at least 12 characters.
- Wait for the human-verification check (Cloudflare Turnstile) under the form to complete. The CREATE ACCOUNT → button stays disabled until it does.
- Click CREATE ACCOUNT →. By creating an account you agree to the Terms of Service and the Acceptable Use Policy. See also the Privacy Policy.
Verify your email address
After an email sign-up you see Check your email: "We sent you a verification link. Click it to confirm your email and continue."
- The link expires in 24 hours. If it isn't in your inbox, check your spam folder.
- Until your address is verified, opening any page of the app brings you back to this notice.
- When you click the link, gitdb.co shows Verifying your email, then Email verified, and takes you to your dashboard.
- If the link is invalid or has expired, you see Verification failed. The page offers "Need a new link? Sign in to resend it."
Username rules
Your username is your personal namespace on gitdb.co. Repositories you create appear at
gitdb.co/<username>/<repo>, and SSH and HTTPS remotes use it too.

You can't change your username yourself later. Your profile page says: "Usernames are immutable. Contact support to change."
Passwords must be between 12 and 256 characters.
Sign in
Go to gitdb.co/login (Sign in to gitdb.co) and use the same method you signed up with:
- Continue with GitHub or Continue with Google, or
- Email and Password, then SIGN IN → (after the same human-verification check).
If you turned on two-step sign-in, or your organization requires it, gitdb.co then asks for a code it emails you. If your company set up single sign-on, use the Enterprise single sign-on box at the bottom of the page. Both are covered in Security and 2FA.
Your profile
Open Settings → Public profile from the account menu (Profile settings). This page controls "How you appear in commits, PRs, and audit events."
- Username is shown read-only.
- Display name and Email can be edited. Click Save changes → to save, or Cancel to undo your edits.
- Change avatar is coming soon.
