GitDB plans and prices, how to subscribe and manage your subscription, Team seats, the daily MCP allowance, and what happens when you hit a rate limit.

Free, Pro, Max, and Ultra are individual, single-user plans. Team is for a group sharing one organization. For governance, single sign-on, or self-hosting, see the Enterprise plan and Enterprise.

Your plan never stops you from signing in. It sets how much you can use.
Subscribe
- Open Settings → Billing & plans and click Choose a plan.
- On Choose your plan, click Subscribe to Pro, Subscribe to Max, Subscribe to Ultra, or Subscribe to Team. For Team, see below first.
- Complete your subscription in the secure Stripe checkout that opens on the same page. Your card details go straight to Stripe. Back to plans closes the checkout without paying.
- After paying you see Payment received ("Activating your subscription…"). It usually takes a few seconds; you're then taken to your dashboard. If it takes longer, the page says: "This is taking longer than usual. Your payment went through — refresh this page in a moment, or contact support if it persists."
If you cancel the checkout, you see Checkout canceled ("No charge was made.") and can go Back to plans.
Team plan
The Team plan bills a dedicated organization, not your personal account. "Your team's repos live here — not in your personal account." On the Team card:
- Set Seats with − and +. The minimum is 5 seats at $100 per seat per month, and the price on the card follows your choice.
- Enter an Organization handle (for example
acme-corp) and, optionally, a display name. The handle follows the organization login rules. - Click Subscribe to Team.
gitdb.co creates the organization first, then opens the checkout for it. If the checkout doesn't go through, the organization still exists on the free plan, owned by you.
Manage seats afterwards in the organization's Settings → Members. See Team seats.
Manage your subscription
Settings → Billing & plans shows your Current plan and Subscription status.
- With an active subscription, click Manage billing. It opens Stripe's secure portal, where you can update your card, change plan, download invoices, or cancel. Stripe brings you back to gitdb.co when you're done.
- Without one, the page says "No active subscription on this account" and offers Choose a plan.
If a plan has been switched off by gitdb.co, the page says so: "This tier is currently disabled by gitdb.co administration — contact support before changing your subscription."
Daily MCP allowance
Your plan sets how many MCP tool calls your AI agents can make per day. The MCP tool calls today card, on your dashboard and on Settings → Billing & plans, shows where you stand:
- "N of LIMIT · resets in …" with a bar that fills up and turns red once the allowance is used up, or
- "N today · no limit" when your plan has no daily cap.
The allowance resets every day at midnight UTC. Git clones, fetches, and pushes don't count toward it.
When you hit a limit
When too many requests arrive, gitdb.co shows 429 · RATE LIMITED with Too many requests, and the limit you reached when it's known ("Limit: N"). There are two cases:

The usage card and the search box report a rate limit in place ("Usage unavailable right now (rate limited) — your work is unaffected.") instead of replacing the whole page.
AST indexing
Index a repository's code structure so agents can search it by symbol and by meaning — what data is shared, how consent works, manual versus automatic indexing, and what each status means.
Enterprise
Run several organizations under one enterprise — enforced policies, members, verified domains, OIDC single sign-on, SCIM provisioning, managed users, and enterprise billing.
